Profy upgraded

This post is intended to report on the upgrade we have just performed on Profy. Below you will find the list of changes compared to the previous version:

Blog search tool (powered by Sphere) - both for internal Profy blogs and external blogs
Fixed quite a number of bugs in the feed reader and introduced styles for the posts shown in the feed reader
Improved dashboard
Fixed bug in the avatar upload process and avatar display in the profile (you will now have to experience it since as you might remember we have not managed to migrate the avatars of beta testers)
Improved widgets for your blogs (introduced editing for the widgets)
YouTube movies support for the blog posts

In general we have completed a number of code optimization tasks and thus improved the overall performance and load speed of the product.

As always, I will be looking forward to feedback from you for us to know where to move on.

Svetlana,

Nice improvements! Today, first time I spent about 15 minutes reading TechCrunch articles using the Profy feed reader. Embedded YouTube videos are working nicely. There is one problem though. There are too many repeated articles.

I also noticed that blog links have been added in the member profile info bit (My Network). I uploaded my avatar once again and glad to say that I encountered no bugs.

There are still a few CSS problems in the feed reader (e.g. need to add left-right padding in images shown in the feed articles, etc.)

When you click on feed titles in the "Latest items in feeds" box, the articles appear in a narrow Ajax pop-up window. In my opinion, the developers should increase the width of the pop-up window for better readability.

Blog themes need serious upgrade 'cause if you take a look at the sidebar, you'll notice that the texts aren't readable. Everything looks like a big mess.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy to see the improvements. I'll be spending more time here @ Profy now.

Avi, thanks a lot for the comments and for the new bugs reported, I have already sent them to developers. I'm glad that you feel better on Profy. And by the way, right now we have a designer working hard on the blog design and templates, it is not intended to be this mess, of course :) The new templates will be available in the next release, thank you for your patience.

My pleasure! :) I can understand that Profy is currently in the private beta stage so bugs are bound to appear.

BTW, this comment system needs to trust me when I say that I'm not a girl! It's still showing "You are logged in as Svetlana Gladkova". I hope the developers fix it soon.

Avi, it's funny when you fix one bug and then get 2 new :) And this bug with the wrong login is already fixed (right after you reported it yesterday), will be uploaded soon. For now, please do not be offended by my name, I still know it is a comment from you.

Seems that to make "Friends' Blogs" more informative and usefull we should pop last updated blogs on top of the blogs list.
